Game on

Start getting excited now – it’s Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Leipzig PS3 line up.

Set beneath the magnificent glass domes of the Leipziger Messe in East Germany, Games Convention is one of the biggest games events in the world, attracting close to 200,000 visitors, exhibitors and members of the press.

It was here that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) displayed some of their hottest upcoming PlayStation 3 titles, and early accounts and hands-on experience from Leipzig show that there are some awesome new titles waiting in the wings.

Time Crisis 4

With its distinctive bright orange lightguns and frantic duck-and-cover shooting gameplay, Time Crisis is already looking like a must-have title for PS3. The plot involves an attempted overthrow of the United States government, but with adrenaline-fuelled gunplay this good you'll likely be too busy to notice.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Casting you as Nathan Drake, adventurer, treasure hunter and all-round action hero, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is an adventure game with a heavy emphasis on exploration and explosive action as Drake sets off on an epic quest to discover the fabled treasure of El Dorado. Stunning graphics, a sharp script and great gameplay all mark this out as one to watch.

SingStar PS3

The social singing sensation returns for its first outing on PS3, and it's brought downloadable content with it in the form of the SingStore, an online song shop where the next essential SingStar track is just a button click away. The addition of downloadable content is a great advancement, and from the reactions of the singers on the SCEE stage at Leipzig the game is just as much fun as ever.

The Eye of Judgment

A truly original addition to PS3's line up, The Eye of Judgment is a turn-based collectible card game that utilises the new PlayStation Eye camera to bring your cards to life with stunning High Definition visuals. Monsters, warriors and magic spells all come to life on screen depending on the cards you play in what looks to be one of the most intriguing and unique games on PS3.

Of course, that's not all. There simply isn't room to go into a line up that includes games such as Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Folklore, Lair and WipEout HD, but SCEE's presence at Leipzig showed that the future for PlayStation 3 is looking very bright indeed.
