inFamous Comic Strip Competition Summer 2009 - Entry Rules

This Competition is open to residents of Austria, Australia , Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom aged 16 years or over except employees of the promoter or anyone professionally involved in the competition.
This Competition opens for entries on 11 August 2009 and closes for entries on 22 September 2009 at 23:59 BST.
This Competition is limited to one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize. Where the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe an entrant has submitted more than one entry, only the first entry received by the Promoter will be eligible for entry into the Competition.
You must have access to a computer with a scanner and internet connection to be able to take part in the Competition.
The Competition is to design a comic strip based on the PlayStation®3 game “inFamous”. To enter, you must download an official template from one of the websites listed below, create your original design on the template, scan the template as a JPEG file and email your design to competitions@community.eu.playstation.com together with your name, date of birth, email address and country of residence. The official templates must not be resized. Entries may only be submitted in JPEG format at a resolution of 72dpi with a file size of no more than 1MB. The winner will be required to submit a high resolution of their comic strip, so entrants are advised to keep their original artwork.

All entries will be reviewed by the Promoter upon receipt. Any entries that are indecent, immoral, defamatory, discriminatory, profane, portray illegal activities or appear to infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person will be disqualified.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries which are lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
By submitting an entry, you warrant that your entry is all your own work, original and unpublished and that any materials or information used by you in creating your entry do not and will not infringe the intellectual property, moral or other rights of any third party and you agree to indemnify the Promoter from and against all claims, demands, costs, losses, expenses and damages arising in respect of any third party intellectual property infringement. You further warrant that you have not entered into (and shall not enter into) any agreement or arrangement and have not done (and shall not do) any act or thing which shall (or might) inhibit, restrict or impair the free and unrestricted use and exploitation of the intellectual property rights in the entry.
The winner will be the entrant whose entry is the best in the opinion of an independent judge considering the artistic skill used and/or the narrative development of the story. The judge will also select four runners-up whose entries are the next best in the judge’s opinion.
The winner and runners-up will be selected within fourteen days of the closing date specified above.

If any prize is found to be defective or damaged on delivery, the Promoter must be notified in writing within 7 days of the delivery date, otherwise the prize will be deemed to be accepted as delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights (if any).
The Winner and runners up will be notified by email to the address from which they submitted their entry within twenty-one days of the closing date and must claim their prize within 30 days of the notification. Prizes shall be dispatched by first class post to the address specified by the entrant in their prize confirmation message. The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to dispatch the prize on within thirty days of notification but does not accept any responsibility for prizes that are dispatched later than this.
The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, publish the winner’s name and country of residence on the Promoter’s website(s). The winner’s details (name and country) will be made available on request to those enclosing a stamped SAE marked inFamous Comic Strip Competition to the following address: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, 10 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7LP, UK within ten weeks of the closing date specified above.
