Perfect your skills
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is available in a fantastic looking Collector's Edition which includes a copy of the game on Blu-ray Disc, a 100-page art book and a useful DVD that features a series of explanations of how to perform some of the game's more advanced fighting techniques. Master these and you will be more than ready to take the fight online with BlazBlue's multiplayer mode, which pits you against a friend or another player on PlayStation Network.
Another great feature is the ability to save your match replays with the aid of the Replay Theatre. This can also be used offline in single and two player modes, and lets you view the fights you have taken part in at normal speed, fast forward or even frame-by-frame so you can study both your own and your opponents' moves to improve your skills in the next bout.
Choose your fighter
With ten characters for you to choose from in BlazBlue you have a wide array of different fighting styles that can be mastered with a little time and practice. Like past Arc System Works games, BlazBlue's characters are truly unique in their design and presentation.
Ragna the Bloodedge is the game's villain with a huge bounty on his head that each of the game's characters are after.
Jin Kisaragai is an officer of the Novus Orbis Librarium, the governing force in the world of BlazBlue, while one of the most interesting characters is Rachel Alucard, a vampire who chose to join the fighting tournament simply out of boredom!
With a whole host of other characters to choose from, plus a great storyline BlazBlue is a fighting game for all fans of the instantly appealing genre.
Fans of arcade style beat 'em-up games are in for a great time with BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, the latest brawler from the creators of the highly acclaimed Guilty Gear series on PlayStation 2 and PSP. Developed by Arc System Works, BlazBlue lets you choose from up to ten uniquely designed characters to battle it out with in stunningly designed 2D arenas.
Fighting fans familiar with the Guilty Gear series will feel right at home with how each character handles in battle, while the gameplay itself is still highly intuitive which means newcomers alike will quickly get to grips with the many available.
Every character you control has a weak, medium and heavy attack, as well as a unique move called a Drive Attack. Master the Drive Attack along with stringing a series of standard attacks together and you will soon be pulling off devastating combos that are sure to floor your opponent in an instant.
You also have two types of blocks, a regular one and a barrier block which cannot be broken by your opponent, but can only be used for a limited amount of time.
