What It's Like To Play

A one in three million adventure

Presentation

A one in three million adventure

Splash your imagination all over LittleBigPlanet 2, the canvas that lets you create miniature masterpieces on PlayStation 3 with a kitbag full of creative tools.

Your inspirational launch pad into the possibilities offered by LittleBigPlanet 2 is the expansive Play Mode, a gloriously madcap journey taking your hero, Sackboy, through six themed, pre-built worlds on a journey to stop an evil vacuum cleaner from devouring LittleBigPlanet.

Unhinged, memorable and enormous fun to play, LittleBigPlanet 2 fizzes and pops with originality, its loveable characters and junk shop scenery a joy to behold. Even the menu screens, which Sackboy navigates in his personalised Pod, buzz with cut-out style, while comedian Stephen Fry's warm, reassuring tones offer humorous guidance.

Perfect food for the imagination, then, and the revamped Create Mode provides an intuitive workbench for your ideas. Thanks to the expanded Popit menu, everything you need to create - not just your own levels, but entire games - is the touch of a button away. Share Mode then opens the door on these creations to the LittleBigPlanet 2 community via PlayStation Network, a world of over three million levels and counting...

So it's up to you – inventor, explorer, hero – to use your skill and imagination to Play, Create and Share. Express yourself, and make even your craziest ideas reality.

A planet eating vacuum cleaner. The Sniper Trifle. Evil robots with hearts made of jelly. Only in LittleBigPlanet 2 could you find such a dizzying mixture of creativity, and these are not just components of an unforgettable single player experience, they're signposts to what you can achieve.

Bounding around worlds brimming with individuality, discovering a huge stash of hidden collectibles and zipping from platformer to shooter to sports mini-game, you'll be struck by just how much is crammed into LittleBigPlanet 2.

A cake factory provides a mass of sticky conveyor belts and vats of molten sugar to negotiate, while a futuristic laboratory throws up some hilariously inventive gizmos. As you spin through levels in the Hamstertron 2000 – a vehicle which crushes enemies and smashes through walls – or swoop through ravines in the Bee 2.0, which rains down honey bombs from the air, it's impossible not to ponder how you would tell your own story.

And what a story it would be, complete with stirring score, action-packed cutscenes, fiendish boss characters and epic power-ups – all handmade by you. The joy of LittleBigPlanet 2 comes from sampling what developer Media Molecule has created in Play Mode, and then diving into Create Mode to engineer your own adventure.

Simplicity and ingenuity are the keystones of LittleBigPlanet 2, and whether you want a mesmerising adventure to play or the chance to build one from scratch, it never fails to entertain and astonish.

A caring community

Multiplayer

A caring community

A barrel of laughs when played on your own, LittleBigPlanet 2 becomes riotous with the addition of up to three more players on your PlayStation 3.

Help or hinder your fellow Sackboys as you race through elegantly designed levels, beating friends to secret items or working together to solve puzzles and discover hidden areas. These co-operative and competitive elements spill over into side quests in Play Mode with a basketball game, a frenzied button mashing score attack, a demolition derby featuring robotic animals and more besides.

A bespoke experience awaits in Create Mode, where you can build something to suit everyone. Use the PlayStation Eye camera to snap a photo of your favourite items, and include them in your dream world. Add life to your levels by introducing Sackbots, then infuse them with character so they become zombies, robots, soldiers or saviours – whatever you want them to be.

It could be a tribute to your favourite game, or a bolt of inspiration. Whatever your vision, LittleBigPlanet 2 lets you realise it to impress your friends. But don't stop there – a thriving community awaits on PlayStation Network eager to sample the fruits of your mind.

Upload your brainchild to a list of user created levels that has already burst through the three million mark, and watch as the community starts buzzing around your work. Synchronise your Sony Entertainment Network account with the new LBP.me website, and you can track your levels online, browse others and cue your favourites, ready to download the next time your PlayStation 3 is connected to the LittleBigPlanet servers.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is only the beginning. Unlock your imagination and become the toast of the community on PlayStation Network.
