Looking Odd, feeling great
The old West has never looked odder. Welcome to Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD on PlayStation 3, a refreshingly different Wild West adventure. Set on the alien planet of Oddworld, your introduction to this untamed realm is through an excellent animated movie which familiarises you with the hero of the game, the mysterious Stranger.
You soon learn that Stranger isn't afraid to let you know what he thinks. This scruffy ruffian doesn't say much, although when he does, you'll listen, as he offers clues and suggestions to help you on your way. Equally important is the muttering of Stranger's foes, clueing you up on possible ambushes and other dangers. Make sure you keep your ears open, or you'll quickly come a cropper in this deadly land.
While the sound in Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD is helpful, the ambient visuals arrest you quicker than a rowdy sheriff on his rounds. The weird and wonderful world is full of entertaining creatures, moody colours and creepy wildlife. Oddworld comes alive in High Definition on your PS3, and makes every step of Stranger's journey a wonder to behold.
Are you ready for the dangerous life of a bounty hunter? To track down and capture dangerous outlaws? Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD on PlayStation 3 puts you in the dirty shoes of Stranger, a mean criminal hunter. And there sure are a lot of lawbreakers to take down...
Being one of the roughest, toughest bounty hunters in town isn't easy. There are a bunch of low-down dirty varmints lurking around every corner who would be happy to see Stranger face down in the dirt. Which is why you're equipped with some ingenious tools to get the job done, come rain or shine.
Stranger doesn't like to use guns, however - so you may find his weaponry a bit... odd. Instead of packing heat, this tar-spitting hotshot uses a double-barrelled crossbow which fires a variety of strange critters.
Zappflies can stun outlaws with a jolt of electricity as well as activate power-hungry door switches and levers. The snarling Fuzzles can be used as living landmines, lying in wait to savage any enemies unfortunate enough to wander close. Seven other creatures can be picked up and used as Stranger's ammunition, so keep an eye out for them - because if there's no vendor available to buy them from, it's up to you to hunt and capture your ammo in the wild.
Don't be too intimidated by the snarling bandits looking to prevent you from putting them down. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD has a great tutorial to get you into the swing of things quickly and easily, while the gruff Stranger will tell you what your latest objective is if you're stuck for what to do next.
Blending rootin' tootin' action and stealth, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD is a lively dose of roughneck entertainment that feels perfectly at home in its alien setting. There's plenty to get stuck into with upgradable abilities and items, and your quest is longer than any Western movie going - and then some. Saddle up, partner... this is one adventure that's only going to get stranger...
